About

Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program provides evidence based educational opportunities to support the entire general practice team to maintain the skills needed to deliver high quality general practice/primary health care.

The gpns program can assist GPs to fulfil their requirements for Continuing Professional Development and Quality Assurance Points (QA & CPD – RACGP) and Professional Development Program Points (PDP – ACRRM).

The gpns program is also accredited to provide RCNA Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points.

How we can help

gpns offers access to independent, evidence based education and skills development for GPs, practice nurses and practice staff. We deliver a comprehensive annual program using a range of formats to suit individual practice needs including:

  • interactive skills-based workshops
  • practice-based education
  • small group learning (SGL) activities
  • peer support activities
  • clinical audits
  • longitudinal intensive education and skills development (e.g. 20 hour anxiety series)
  • support and advice about individual learning programs

Together with our strong focus on supporting team-based learning and development, we are also interested in addressing the issues that affect behavioural change within practices and in providing systems that support the uptake of evidence into clinical care.

Please see our Coming Events page for a full list of all upcoming gpns CPD events, including many other external events, courses, online education and workshops that are available.

Health organisations interested in holding a CPD event in conjunction with gpns are welcome to contact the program coordinator.
